What is Automation

Application of Automation is the use of machines and technology to make operation run on their own without manpower or in other words Automation contain any upgrade to an action that turn down human labour while resulting in an outgrowth that’s greater than that of the prior process and very  useful in real world.

 According to PC Magazine Automation is “Replacing manual operations with electronics and computer-controlled devices”.

 It occur when technology does the work that was previously done by humans and as a result increases productivity, improve efficiency, enhanced flexibility, greater output of quality, error free work, maintain consistency, saving time and cutting costs.

How Application of Automation Useful in Real World

a) ATM machines for acquiring cash which is simpler than formerly going bank for money withdraw.

b) Office automation put back manual typewriters, filing cabinets and paper appointment books with computer appliance.

c) Tape and disk libraries have been called ‘automation systems’ because robotic arms pick cartridges out of a stacker and move them to the drives.

5.  Siri Digital Assistant : Control home with “Siri”

Turn on lights, adjust the thermostat, and control all of the products that use in home—even when we’re not there only by asking “Siri”. By setting Homekit accessories in the Home app,”Siri” can be use to control Home from just about anywhere. “Siri” identifies accessories by name,location and other details added in home app.

Turn accessories on or off : “Hey Siri,” then say something like: “Turn on the lights.”

Adjust an accessory : “Hey Siri,” then say something like: “Set the temperature to 68 degrees.”

Control a room or zone : Say “Hey Siri,” then you can say things like:”Turn off the lights downstairs.”

Use HomePod to control the room it’s in^: “Hey Siri,” then say something like :”Turn on the fan.”

6) AlphaGo 

 AlphaGo is a Google DeepMind Project. It is an artificial intelligence (AI) agent specialized to play GO, a Chinese strategy board game, against human competitors.The ability to create a learning algorithm that can beat a human player at strategic games is a measure of AI development. “AlphaGo” is designed as a self-teaching AI and plays against itself to master the complex strategic game of Go.

AlphaGo is based off a Monte Carlo algorithm tree search based looking at a list of possible moves from its machine-learned repository. Algorithms and learning differ among the various versions of “AlphaGo”.  AlphaGo Master, the version that beat the world champion Go player Ke Jie, uses supervised learning.

“AlphaGo is not only a major achievement in the pursue for AI, but also an indication that IT now has entered a new era,” said Wang, the vice president and secretary general of the Chinese Association of Automation.

According to Fei-Yue Wang, a professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. As a result, IT is no longer “information technology”—the new IT is intelligent technology.

7) The Well Fargo Chatbot 

It interacts with customers and answers queries, thereby reducing call center load. And behind the scenes, companies are using automation to speed processes to become lean performers. 

8) DeepFake (Artificial Intelligence)

 Deepfake is an AI based technology used to produce or modify video content so that it presents the thing in different way than actual. The term is named for a Reddit user known as deepfakes used deep learning technology to edit the faces of celebrities onto people in pornographic video clips. The term, which applies to both the technologies and the videos created with it, is a  portmanteau of  deep learning and fake.

Deepfake video is created by using two competing AI systems — one is called the generator and the other is called the discriminator. Basically, the generator creates a fake video clip and then asks the discriminator to determine whether the clip is real or fake. Each time the discriminator accurately identifies a video clip as being fake, it gives the generator a clue about what not to do when creating the next clip.

Together, the generator and discriminator form something called a generative adversarial network(GAN)). As the generator gets better at creating fake video clips, the discriminator gets better at spotting them. Conversely, as the discriminator gets better at spotting fake video, the generator gets better at creating them. 

9) Automated Hiring and Recruitment Tools -Mya , Smashfly and BreezyHR  

Automated hiring tools can read through applications at amazing speeds, searching for specific keywords to quickly identify the best candidates from thousands of applications. According to CareerBuilder, 71% of employers said automated applicant tracking software helped improve the candidate experience. “Mya” , “Smashfly” and “BreezyHR”   uses AI to significantly reduce the time to hire and accelerate the screening process.

10) Customer support- Chatbots 

Customers need support around the clock, making it hard to manage for normal human beings  but  “Chatbots” can easily take the charge and give the support to customer round the clock. 

According to a recent survey, 45.8% of people would rather contact a business through messaging than email. And most chatbots can easily integrate with automated customer support desks like Zendesk and Freshdesk, which can dramatically reduce support desk traffic and time per ticket. 

11) Form Autofill  Tool – LastPass and RoboForm

These awesome automation tools use strong encryption technology to help securely and automatically fill in any online form. Even entering payment information is fast, secure, and easy. These tools can also help to generate extra strong passwords and store them in a locally encrypted password-protected vault.

Research Report

1) GRIT Game Changers report shows that market research automation has increased as a game changer year over year. Another study has shown that  80 % of researchers  believe market research automation will grow; 60 %  say it enables them to deliver projects faster and 50 % say they’ve used it to lower costs.

2) One of the reports, by the  McKinsey Global Institute includes a review of how susceptible to automation different jobs might be and finds that hundreds of millions of people worldwide will have to find new jobs or learn new skills. 

3)The latest ISG research in which question asked to more than 500 business and IT leaders about their current and future plans for automation and AI.  While 16 % of respondents say they are currently applying automation and AI to one or more mission-critical business processes, more than three times as many (51 % ) say they expect to do so by 2020. 

4)The survey also finds that overall investment in automation technologies – including robotic process automation (RPA), autonomics, virtual customer service agents and personal assistants, natural language processing and machine learning – is expected to double in the next two years.

5)Oxford University researchers Carl Frey and Michael Osborne claim that technology will transform many sectors of life. They studied 702 occupational groupings  and found that “47 percent” of U.S. workers have a high probability of seeing their jobs automated over the next 20 years.

6)2020 Predictions About Automation And The Future Of Work From “Forrester”  Over 1 million knowledge-work jobs will be replaced in 2020 by software robotics, RPA, virtual agents and chatbots, and machine-learning-based decision management.

So predicts research firm Forrester in a new report published today, “Predictions 2020:Automation“ . It also estimates that 331,500 net jobs will be added to the US workforce next year, human-touch jobs that require intuition, empathy, and physical and mental agility. Worldwide (global market for digital workforce is expected to reach $153 billion by 2020).

7)According to experts from Transparency Market Research, the global industrial automation market had gained revenue worth US$182.64 bn in 2015, which is further expected to grow up to US$352.02 bn by the end of 2024. This growth is projected to occur at a handsome CAGR of 6.6% during the forecast period from 2016 to 2024.

8)A recent survey made on Industrial Automation reveals that by 2022, the Industrial Automation Market is expected to reach over billions. Additionally, Robots and computers are designed to do any and every task that is included in the industry.
